The Bazaar is laid out in 9 groups of 9 plots, totaling 81 plots. Players will spawn on the southwest intersection, facing north. From there, you are free to browse shops as you please. You can check which town owns each plot by walking over the plot you want to check, or by using
/towny map big
to view a map of plots in chat. You can hover over each plot to reveal its owner and claim date.

As Bazaar plots are managed by Towns, you must be the mayor of a town or a trusted member of someone else's town to claim a plot in The Bazaar. When claiming a plot, your town's balance must meet or exceed 2500 coins. To claim a plot, enter
/towny claim outpost
on top of the plot you wish to claim.
Since Bazaar plots are managed by Towns, you must be the mayor of a town or a trusted member of one to claim a plot in The Bazaar. To claim a plot, your town's balance must meet or exceed 2500 coins. Once you've ensured this, you can claim a plot by standing on it and typing
/towny claim outpost
.

Often, plots are already under the ownership of an existing town. If you still want to use one of these plots, you have a few options: request permission to be trusted on the plot by the current owner, allowing you to place chest shops of your own or arrange a deal to buy the plot from the previous owner for a specified amount.
If a plot is already owned by another town, you have a few options: you can request permission from the current owner to be trusted on the plot, allowing you to place your own chest shops, or you can negotiate a deal to purchase the plot from the current owner for an agreed-upon amount.

You may occasionally spy a Bazaar plot owned by a town about to go into ruin, or when the town balance exceeds its debt cap. Once this happens, the town, and by extension any Bazaar plots it owns, will open to the public to be looted and griefed including any chest shops active at the time. 72 hours after the town goes into ruin, any plots previously claimed will quickly reset. This includes Bazaar plots, meaning players can dilligently watch the plot for the moment it goes down, and swoop in to claim it.
Occasionally, you might find a Bazaar plot owned by a town on the brink of going into ruin - which occurs when a town’s balance falls below a certain threshold. Once a town falls into ruin, any plots it owns, including those in The Bazaar, become open to the public for looting and griefing, including any active chest shops. Seventy-two hours after the town goes into ruin, all of its plots, including those in The Bazaar, will reset. This provides an opportunity for players to claim these plots, so watch carefully if you're interested in acquiring one.
