Death
![]() |
In Blockgame, death is an inevitable aspect of your experience, manifesting in various forms, occasionally frustrating and at times comical. Whether you lose your head to the Envoy, succumb to starvation, or attempt to be a fish without gills or fly without wings, embrace the fact that death is an integral part of the game.
In Blockgame, you only drop items with the "Drops on Death" tag upon death; all other items or items in your satchels and backpack are safe. Additionally, you lose 5.0% of your current bank balance (physical coins are exempt from this, but do carry the "Drops on Death" and a further 5.0% (for a total of 10%) will be dropped in a Coin pouch at your location of death, along with losing 50 points of durability from all equipped weapons, armors, and tools.
You will respawn at the last bed you slept in, or at the last respawn anchor you used.
Special Behaviors
In some cases, dying will have unique effects depending on the conditions of a player's death. Most of these behaviors serve a particular gameplay purpose.
Myrkheim
When a player dies inside Myrkheim, they will respawn at their currently set spawn location. A notable behavior of Myrkheim is that beds cannot be used; beds will self-destruct and drop on the ground if used by a player inside Myrkheim. This is to ensure players cannot use beds to avoid portal mechanics.
Additionally, when a player dies inside Myrkheim (and only when inside Myrkheim), they will lose access to their last used Myrk portal and if they attempt to use a portal in Midgard, will be teleported to their current spawn point until a new portal in Myrk is used.
Towns and War
If a player participating in an active Siege is killed inside the siege zone (but outside the besieged town's plots) the Siege War plugin will tabulate their death and calculate the new siege balance, based on whether they were part of the Attacking or Defending party.
If an Outlaw enters the town they are outlawed in, dying inside the town will send them to a jail cell, provided the town has a jail plot set up. This will only occur if the player killing the outlaw is a Mayor, Assistant, or Sheriff of the town.
Bounties
Players with active bounties (only when killed by another player) will have their bounties removed. When a bounty is claimed, the total value of the bounty will be transferred directly into the claimant's balance. Note that players with active contributions to bounties cannot claim the bounty for themselves in any way.
Other Cases

The Blockgame Enhanced Mod adds a setting allowing players to respawn automatically when they die. The screen will fade to black, and the player will respawn at their spawn point.
If a player lacks an active spawn point at a bed or a Respawn Anchor, their default spawn point will be in front of Origin City Hall.
Blockgame features a PVP combat log system. When one player hits another, they will each be tagged as "In Combat" for 30 seconds. A bar at the top of their screen will display the time remaining. The player's nametags, the in-game chat, and the tab menu will all display their names in red with the word Combat preceding them. If a tagged player exits the game, they will be automatically killed and will respawn when they next log in.
