Podzol
Item Details
TypeBlock

Podzol is an uncommon variant of dirt that is found naturally in Old Growth Taigas and Bamboo Jungles. Podzol may be created by the player through converting grass blocks, Dirt, Mycelium, Coarse Dirt, Rooted Dirt, Moss Block, Muddy Mangrove Roots, and Mud using 2x2 Spruce Trees.

For further information, please refer to the Vanilla Minecraft block.

Usage

Due to its ability to replace other blocks, Podzol's replacement mechanic can be used to change the drops one may receive from a particular block.

For example, if you were to travel to a location in Myrkheim with blocks valid for Podzol replacement (Dirt, for example) then the block would grant the XP and drops of Podzol without needing to travel to biomes which generate Podzol in limited quantities, only one y-layer thick.

Note that Podzol-replaced blocks do not quite behave like player-generated Logs from grown Saplings. The block replaced must have been naturally generated in order for the Podzol it is converted into to give XP and drops.
