Food encompasses consumable items that restore hunger and hydration points upon consumption, sometimes granting status effects and restoration of health points. Vital for survival, neglecting food consumption leads to starvation, resulting in damage until the player's health reaches zero, leading to death.
To eat food, players have to hold the "use" button while selecting the food item in the hotbar or off-hand.
Food cannot be consumed when the hunger bar is full, which may be limiting if the selected food primarily serves healing purposes.
This page specifically addresses food items for players.
Hunger and Hydration
Players in Blockgame have two distinct food statistics, the hunger level is visible, while the hydration level remains unseen (Note: Hydration is Visible as it's own meter while using the Blockgame Mod). Hydration is the first statistic to decline when players perform actions or simply exist in the Blockgame world. The hydration bar must be completely depleted before the hunger meter starts to decrease.
Consuming a food item replenishes a set number of hunger points and hydration points, with the amount varying based on the item. Some foods offer a better ratio of hydration to hunger points replenished than others. Notably, overeating the hunger bar does not affect hydration levels.
A full hunger or hydration meter lasts for approximately 10 minutes each, totaling 20 minutes with both meters full before starvation sets in.
